Wow, our departure date is rapidly approaching: we are leaving two weeks from tomorrow! Yikes!
We spent Memorial Day weekend in Havasu -- it was five days of family, friends, drinks, and relaxing in the sun. One of the highlights of the weekend was when I hit a $100 jackpot on a slot machine called Zeus; and it was only a 30 cent bet! It was great spending quality time with my family...although I'm sure they're sick of us by now and are ready to send us off to Central Asia for two years!
Now that we are back in town, we don't have any more trips between us and Mongolia. I guess that means we really need to begin preparing ourselves. We have quite a bit of reading material that we need to go back over: our welcome book, cultural adjustment guide, and a couple pieces of recommended reading. We told ourselves that we are not going to start actually packing until the Monday before we leave.
Until then, however, we'll be filling our time with more friends and family. And food.
