Animal Farm

In case any of you haven't heard by now, this is currently Mongolia's worst winter in 30 years. For every day working stiffs in the city, it's really not much more than a big inconvenience. But for the herders out in the countryside whose livestock are dying off in record numbers because the snow and frost have ruined the grass, it's a disaster. As a result, some drastic measures are being taken.

From what we can tell, the family that we live with have decided to take in a whole host of animals from their relatives in the countryside who can't properly care for them. This means that what used to be the small vegetable garden outside our living room and bedroom windows is now the living quarters of 4 cows, 10+ sheep, and a handful of goats.

I guess this is what we get for telling ourselves that we'd never live in the Inland Empire.
